  6. Overview
  7. --------
  8. Text Server (TS) is a simple Windows Sockets server that
  9. illustrates the "other" side of client/server computing,
  10. winsock style.  TS accepts client connections and interprets
  11. queries as file specifiers.  TS then opens the requested
  12. file, and sends it back to the client.  Outbound buffer
  13. traffic shows up in the client window.  This server speaks
  14. the finger protocol, and will respond to any finger client.

  26. Requirements
  27. ------------
  28. *  Since Text Server dynamically links to the winsock DLL
  29.    and builds with the winsock.h, .def, and .lib files,
  30.    you'll need a TCP/IP implementation that provides a
  31.    Windows Sockets interface.

  33. *  The 1.0 distribution was built with the Microsoft C/C++
  34.    7.0 SDK.

  36. *  You need a finger client to query the server.

  40. When using WS M/Finger 3.1, specify the file spec in the
  41. "user id" field.  In UNIX:
